Multiple apps with same process name
« on: July 02, 2010, 07:39:22 am »
Hi

I have 2 scenarios that i was hoping Kiwi could assist with but i have been unable to set it up successfully.

1. Two shortcuts which point to the same .exe on a mapped drive. The shortcuts have been configured with different variables ie. port numbers and database names.

The processes however are both the same "Hl7 event"

I have not been able to differentiate between the 2 so that if one stops and one is still running it picks up that one has stopped. If both stops it will try and restart the .exe directly but it will not work as the shortcut needs to launch it with the variables included.

2. Similar problem 4 different exe's but all appear as a plusrun process so does not restart a stopped process if any of the remaning 3 are still running.

Yes, the only thing differenting the exes are their unique IDs (PID) but they change once the programs restarts or the computer.
So there is no effective way to monitor and differentiate them as for now.
